Cindy has been teaching high school and college English students for thirty years that great literature calls us to think, feel, and act in ways that change our world. Modeling T. H. White’s The Once and Future King, her first publication challenged teachers and students to create Camelots through round table book discussions promoting global education, peace, and understanding. Today Classic Coup talks “lit and life” beyond the classroom, using fashion inspired by characters and ideas from rich reads. Cindy’s excited that the company provides books to children in Ecuador and especially pumped about her students joining peers in Quito via Skype to discuss lit and life.
Cindy’s favorite quote is by Gil Bailie: “Do not ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” She says being Mom to Taylor and Cole makes her come alive. So does salsa and travel. As a free-lance writer, Nashville’s Latin Dancing Examiner and blogger, she writes about her adventures at home and abroad.
Cindy never grows tired of discussing Wuthering Heights or watching Life is Beautiful, Chocolat, Slumdog Millionaire and Under the Tuscan Sun. She hopes to paint and act again, and can’t wait to visit friends in Ecuador.
